The weather is bitter around here lately and thus I have become something of a homebody. That’s always the case with the winter months because I’m not a fan of the cold or winter sports so I usually cozy up at home with some good cooking, movies, and books. The only time I ever want to go out is when the weather eases up and becomes mild or there’s something extra fun going on. Both things happened this past weekend when the weather reached the 50s and the auto show rolled into Philly. It forced me to get dressed and ventured across the bridge to Philly to see some cars and have a nice dinner out with Nick.
The Philadelphia Auto Show is held in the ginormous Convention Center in midtown Philly and all the major retailers are there along with some local car clubs that bring their vintage autos for you to check out. My favorite part of the auto show is getting to step inside all of the cars. It’s like being at the car dealership, only you’re at every car dealership ever with all of their latest and greatest models. I hopped right into the Chevy Traverse while we were there and found my dream “mommy mobile” (not that that’s happening any time soon) and slipped into some pretty awesome Fords.
Two fun things they have at the Philly auto show are the Jeep Experience and Toyota test drive. The line was so long to ride in a Jeep that we decided to skip it but we watched other people doing it. Do you see how high you go up?! You also ride over these weird wave things and up on the tilted pile of dirt. It looked like fun but again, I was not going to stand in line for an hour. We also skipped the Toyota test drive because the car person drives you around and we reasoned we could just go to a dealership and test drive them ourselves.
It was so much fun and I can’t wait for next year. Definitely worth venturing out into the winter weather for!
